RESUMEN
Se describe las características de las atenciones de emergencia registradas por la policía en un hospital de Lima elaño 2001. Para ello se recolectó información de las características temporales, espaciales y de las personas. El promedio diario de personas registradas fue 20,22 sábados, domingos y feriados, y 13,08 otros días de semana. 1981 (44,66 por ciento) personas sufrieron un evento en grandes avenidas. El 67,04 por ciento de personas fueron varones, y elgrupo de edad prevalente fue 25-49 años (42,64 por ciento). En conclusión las atenciones tuvieron mayor incidencia los fines de semana y feriados, en grandes avenidas, en varones y en adultos jóvenes.
ABSTRACT
To describe the characteristics of emergency occurrences recorded by the police in a Lima Hospital in year 2001.Time, space, and personal information were recollected. The average number of persons registered was 20,22 onweekends, and 13,08 in ordinary week days. 1981 persons (44,66 per cent) had an event in big avenues. 67,04 per cent persons registered were male, and the most frequently affected age group was 25 to 49 years old (42,64 per cent). In conclusion, emergency occurrences were more frequent on weekends and in holidays, involving big avenues, and young adult male subjects.
