Formação profissional em odontologia: revisão de literatura / Vocational training in dentistry: literature review

RESUMO

O objetivo deste estudo é discutir as questões relativas à formação profissional em Odontologia a partir de trabalhos publicados sobre o tema. Realizou-se a pesquisa nas bases de dados Lilacs e SciELO, utilizando os descritores Odontologia, Educação, Ensino e Formação. Após a busca, leitura dos títulos e resumos, e aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, foram selecionados 23 artigos. De forma a sistematizar a análise, os artigos foram organizados em três categorias temáticas elaboradas após a leitura dos textos na íntegra A formação ética (4 artigos), A integração ensinoserviço (9 artigos) e O ensino em consonância com as Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais (10 artigos). O contexto de mudanças curriculares está em um momento de transitoriedade, evidenciando alguns avanços como a incorporação dos valores éticos à formação profissional dos cirurgiões-dentistas e a criação de novos cenários de prática para os estudantes, por meio da integração ensino-serviço. Alguns problemas enfrentados foram percebidos tais como deficiências quanto a conteúdos relacionados à formação cultural, humanística e política; o professor universitário privilegiando os saberes técnicos; grande força do modelo biomédico de ensino; os acadêmicos têm dificuldades em demonstrar sensibilidade social e preocupação com os problemas da população, dificuldades para atuação em Saúde Coletiva e deficiência no conhecimento das atribuições dos membros da equipe de Saúde da Família.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is discuss issues relating to vocational training in dentistry from published works on the subject. The research was conducted in Lilacs and SciELO databases, using as descriptors the words Dentistry, Education, Teaching and Training. After the search, reading the titles and abstracts and application of inclusion and exclusion criteria, 23 articles were selected. In order to systematize the analysis of the articles were organized into three themes Ethics (4 articles); The teaching-service integration (9 articles); and Training and teaching in line with the National Curriculum Guidelines (10 articles). The context of curricular changes are in a moment of transience, showing some advances as the incorporation of ethical values on vocational training of dentists and creating new scenarios practice for students through the teaching-service integration. Some problems were encountered such as perceived deficiencies regarding content related to humanistic, cultural and political education; the professor focusing on technical knowledge; the biomedical model of teaching; students have difficulties in demonstrating social sensitivity and concern for people's problems, difficulties to work in Public Health and lack of knowledge of the duties of the staff of Family Health.
