Resumo O autor comenta sobre a necessidade ele maior atenção para um papel socialmente outorgado ao médico que é o ele cura d'almas . Ressalta o pouco treinamento que o profissional tem para essa função e, por isso, a tendência a se infelicitar e, também, perder a oportunidade para uma ajuda mais eficaz. Opina pela necessidade de maior integração da Medicina com as Ciências Humanas e por um ensino médico voltado para, realmente, atender ao fenômeno humano como um ser bio-psico-social.

Summary Given the fact that Medicine was undoubredly neaded toward greats complexity and thus, increasing stress, the psychological strain on physicians was in all probability increased too. The training occurred during the graduation, especially in the "role of counselor" or in the "apostolic function", remains poor considered and certainly is one of the many causes of the failure, in the medical patient relation in our days. In this article was suggested, a need for a integration among the Medicine and the humanities, and the application of the biopsychosocial model, that improves a implicit therapy in medical and patient relationship.
