RESUMO
Resumo Tendo em vista a relevância do impacto da pandemia de covid-19, este ensaio estabelece como reflexão o racismo ambiental e a saúde no estado do Piauí, no sentido de contribuir para o efetivo desenvolvimento de informações que possam servir de diretrizes para ações de prevenção mais eficazes. Visamos compreender o racismo ambiental como processo relacionado às desigualdades, mas, também, na operatória da política pública de definir os grupos prioritários para a manutenção de sua saúde, além de colocar em questão quais estratégias devem ser construídas para garantir a saúde desses grupos vulneráveis. Assim, a quebra dessa realidade para que sejam alcançados benefícios deve acontecer a partir da mudança de postura do Estado e da sociedade como um todo.
ABSTRACT
Abstract In the light of the relevance of the impact of the covid-19 pandemic, the present essay establishes as a reflection environmental racism and health in the state of Piauí to contribute to the effective development of information that can serve as guidelines for more effective preventive actions, understanding environmental racism, then, a process related to inequalities, but also in the operation of public policy to define priority groups for the maintenance of their health, in addition to calling into question which strategies should be built to ensure the health of these vulnerable groups. Thus, to break this reality in order to achieve benefits, it would be from the change of attitude of the State and society as a whole.
