RESUMO

Introdução:

As políticas em relação ao planeamento familiar, vem desde muito tempo se dedicando principalmente às mulheres, mesmo sabendo-se que os homens têm um papel importante a desempenhar neste sentido, podendo suas atitudes interferir, positiva ou negativamente, na decisão das suas companheiras em aderir aos serviços de planeamento familiar. Alguns estudos feitos em Moçambique reconhecem o papel dos homens no planeamento familiar, entretanto ainda encontram-se lacunas em pesquisas científicas relacionadas à este.

Objectivos:

Avaliar a atitude dos homens usuários dos serviços de saúde, no centro de saúde do Chamanculo, em relação ao planeamento familiar.

Metodologia:

Foi realizado um estudo de abordagem qualitativa, do tipo fenomenológico, no centro de saúde do Chamanculo, que incluiu 14 indivíduos do sexo masculino, residentes na área de saúde do centro de saúde do Chamanculo. Os dados foram colhidos através de entrevistas semi estruturadas, posteriormente transcritas para o Microsoft Word 2013 e submetidas a técnica de análise de conteúdo por meio do Programa Nvivo 12.

Resultados:

Os participantes do estudo tinham idades compreendidas entre 22-46 anos. Todos definiram o planeamento familiar, embora de forma incompleta. A maioria ouviu falar do planeamento familiar através da televisão e rádio, mencionou a pílula e o preservativo como os métodos de contraceptivos mais conhecidos, apoia as suas parceiras à aderirem as consultas de planeamento familiar, mas não as acompanham, ou poucas vezes o fazem.

Conclusões:

Os participantes do estudo tem conhecimentos e acesso à informação sobre o planeamento familiar, reconhecem que a responsabilidade sobre o planeamento familiar é do casal e apoiam as suas parceiras a usarem os métodos. Entretanto eles não acompanham as suas parceiras as consultas, ou poucas vezes o fazem, por razões que incluem a falta de tempo e o trabalho.
ABSTRACT

Introduction:

Policies in relation to family planning have been dedicated for a long time mainly to women, even though it is known that men have an important role to play, and their attitudes can interfere, positively or negatively, in the decision of their companions. in joining family planning services. Some studies carried out in Mozambique recognize the role of men in family planning, however there are still gaps in scientific research related to this role.

Objectives:

To assess the attitude of male who attend Chamanculo primary health care center in relation to family planning.

Methodology:

A qualitative study named phenomenological was carried out, at Chamanculo primary health care center. This study included 14 male individuals, who live in the health area of chamanculo health center. Data was collected through face-to-face semi-structured interviews, which were transcribed for microsoft word 2013 and submitted to content analysis technique through the Nvivo 12 Program.

Results:

Study participants were aged 22 to 46 years. All the participants defined family planning, althought incompletely. The majority had just heard about family planning on television and radio, knew the pill and condoms as contraceptive methods, supported their partners to adhere to family planning consultations, but did not accompany them, or rarely did.

Conclusions:

The participants have knowledge and access to information about family planning, recognize that the responsibility for family planning is for both partners, and support their partners in using the methods. However, they do not accompany their partners to appointments, or rarely do so, for reasons that include lack of time and work responsability.
