RESUMO
Objetivou-se descrever as demandas de cuidado do idoso com insuficiência renal crônica em tratamento conservador. Trata-se de uma revisão narrativa de artigos científicos publicados online. A busca ocorreu em janeiro de 2013 nas bases de dados LILACS e MEDLINE sem recorte temporal. Utilizaram-se os descritores Insuficiência Renal Crônica and Idoso e a palavra tratamento. Os dados foram submetidos a análise temática. Emergiram as categorias o cuidado profissional e a participação da família no tratamento conservador. Destaca-se a importância de abranger a família no cuidado dos idosos com insuficiência renal crônica e na decisão da modalidade de tratamento. Salienta-se a necessidade de melhorar a qualidade das orientações dos profissionais e inserir a atuação conservador, além de capacitar profissionais da atenção básica para identificação precoce da doença renal.
ABSTRACT
Aimed to describe the demands of caring for the elderly with chronic renal failure on conservative treatment. Methodology:
narrative review of scientific articles published online. The search occurred in January 2013 in the databases LILACS and MEDLINE, without time frame. Was used the descriptors Chronic Renal Failure and Elderly and the word Treatment. Data were subjected to thematic analysis. The following categories emerged professional care and family participation in the conservative treatment. We highlight the importance of including the family in care of the elderly with chronic renal failure and deciding treatment modality. We emphasize the need to improve the quality of professional orientation, insert the multidisciplinary performance significantly in the conservative treatment, in addition to qualify professionals in primary care for early detection of kidney disease.
