RESUMO
Objetivou-se avaliar o estilo de vida dos idosos de uma Unidade Básica de Saúde. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, transversal e quantitativo realizado com 35 idosos na faixa etária de 63 e 101 anos, com média de 71 anos (±6,07). Os dados foram coletados por meio de um formulário. Os resultados revelaram que os idosos não têm hábito de adicionar sal extra na alimentação pronta para o consumo (97,1%), não consomem alimentos industrializados (71,4%) e gordura animal (65,7%), não realizam atividade de lazer (60%), não fumam (82,9%) e nem ingerem bebida alcoólica (85,72%), são sedentários (62,9%), e consomem frituras frequentemente ou às vezes (51,4%) e café frequentemente (85,71%). Conclui-se que os idosos adotam algumas medidas de prevenção compatíveis com um estilo de vida saudável como não consumir alimentos industrializados, não adicionar sal aos alimentos prontos para o consumo e não fazer uso de álcool e cigarro.
ABSTRACT
This study aimed to evaluate the lifestyle of the elderly in a basic health unit. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional and quantitative study of 35 elderly in the age group between 63 and 101 years, with means of 71 (± 6.07) years of age. Data were collected through a form. The results revealed that the elderly have no habit of adding extra salt in the food ready for consumption (97.1%), do not eat processed foods (71.4%) or animal fat (65.7%), do not have any leisure activity (60%), do not smoke (82.9%), and do not ingest alcohol (85.72%). It also revealed that they are sedentary (62.9%), frequently or occasionally eat fried food (51.4%) and often drink coffee (85.71%). It can be concluded that the elderly adopt some prevention measures that are compatible with a healthy lifestyle such as not consuming industrialized foods, not adding salt to ready-to-eat food and not using alcohol or smoking cigarettes.
