Nas últimas décadas, o avanço tecnológico permitiu um melhor conhecimento da genética, etiopatogênese, história natural e tratamento da Doença de Addison (DA). No entanto, o diagnóstico ainda é tardio, sendo realizado, frequentemente, na ocorrência de uma insuficiência adrenal (IA) aguda. O objetivo principal desse artigo é revisar o diagnóstico e manejo da DA.

ABSTRACT

In recent decades, technological advances allowed a better understanding of genetics, etiopathogenesis, natural history and treatment of Addison's disease (AD). However, the diagnosis is often made in the occurrence of an acute adrenal failure. The main objective of this paper is to review the diagnosis and management of AD.
