O objetivo desta pesquisa foi conhecer a concepção das mulheres sobre o exame Papanicolau, e os fatores relacionados a não adesão ao exame preventivo de Papanicolau. Método:

Trata-se de um estudo transversal quantitativo, retrospectivo onde foram aplicados questionários com mulheres que procuraram a Unidade Saúde da Família para prevenção câncer colo útero, no período de junho a agosto/2016.Resultados:
Foi evidenciado que a maioria 46% tem 40 ou mais anos de idade, quando analisado a variável realizam o exame anualmente 88% responderam sim. Considerações Foi observado que a maioria das mulheres entenderam a importância da promoção e prevenção do câncer colo de útero.ABSTRACT
