ABSTRACT
One hundred and fifty laparoscopic cholecystectomies without pneumoperitoneum (LCWP) cases were reviewed. Age, sex, duration of surgical procedures, postoperative pain, complications and length of hospital stay data were also analyzed. We concluded that LCWP avoids complication related to its use and has become a sound option particulary for those patients with a history of cardiorespiratory failure where pneumoperitoneum approach is hindered. Hence, laparoscopic cholecystectomy prescription is widened. (Au)
