ABSTRACT
Histoplasmosis is a frequent opportunistic fungal infection in patients with HIV/AIDS, who often present with the progressive disseminated variant. Cutaneous manifestations are heterogeneous and often they are accompanied by nonspecific constitutional symptoms. Amphotericin B and azolic compounds such as itraconazole are the drugs of choice in the treatment of the disease. We report the case of a man with AIDS who developed a subacute disseminated histoplasmosis with mucocutaneous manifestations.(AU)
