There are few studies on the use of illicit drugs during pregnancy with a variable prevalence depending on the year, maternal age, region and diagnostic methods. Mothers and newborn infants urine samples were tested for illegal drugs in cases where the mother reported consumption, lack of antenatal care and neonatal signs and symptoms, from 2009 to 2011.
