Calidad de la atención médica a la cardiopatía isquémica en un área de salud / Quality of the medical attention to the ischemic heart disease in a health area

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal sobre la evaluación de la calidad de la atención médica a una muestra de 159 pacientes con cardiopatía isquémica, atendidos por médicos de familia del Policlínico “Julio A. Mella” del municipio Camagüey en el año 2004. Se estudiaron variables como el número y calidad de consultas al año, número y calidad de visitas al hogar al año, adherencia al tratamiento y control del paciente. Se le realizó el número de consultas establecidas al 69.81 por ciento de los pacientes y al 81.51 por ciento el número adecuado de visitas al hogar. Sólo el 6.92 por ciento de los pacientes estaba adherido al tratamiento no farmacológico. Teniendo en cuenta el número de controles en consulta realizado a estos pacientes y la altísima cifra de pacientes no adheridos al tratamiento no farmacológico, se concluyó que aún no se ha alcanzado la óptima calidad de la atención médica de esta enfermedad por el equipo básico de salud(AU)

ABSTRACT

A cross-sectional descriptive study about the evaluation of the medical attention quality to a sample of 159 patients with ischemic heart disease was carried out, attended by family doctors at Julio A. Mella Hospital of Camagüey municipality in 2004 year. Variables as number and consultations quality in a year, number and quality at home visits in a year, treatment adhesion and control of the patient, were studied. The number of established consultations to 69.81 percent of the patients and the 81.51 percent of them the adequate number of home visits, was performed. Only the 6.92 percent of the patients was adhered to the non-pharmacological treatment. Regarding to the controls number at consultation carried out to these patients and the highest figure of patients not adhere to the non-pharmacological treatment, was concluded that the optimum quality of medical attention of this illness by the basic team of health has not been reached yet(AU)
