ABSTRACT
The origin of primary biliary cirrhosis is still an enigma. The case of a 32-year-old patient , in whom the symptoms of the illness began to appear since 3 years ago, through a widespread pruritus is described in this work. By that time she had approximately 4 weeks of pregnancy, but after the childbirth she began to present icterus. The results of the laboratory tests, including hepatic biopsy, were in correspondence with the characteristic changes of this condition; and although her general state improved, she continued with other symptoms and signs of the condition
