ABSTRACT
A bibliographic review on beating chest studying important aspects as concept, pathophysiology, causes, frequency, sex, age, diagnosis, treatment, numbness and stay. It was determined that beating chest is not a frequent affection, observing that the serious condition of it, is related to underlying pulmonary contusion to traumatism and to pain because of costal fracture, instead of being due to instability of thoracic wall and paradoxical breathing. The complications of this are associated with mechanical respiration(AU)
