RESUMEN
Se examina el concepto de equidad en general y de equidad en salud en particular, tanto en los resultados de la salud, como en los recursos y servicios en salud. Una definición autóctona de equidad es asimismo presentada. Algunas ideas básicas sobre la medición en salud son también expuestas. Se concluye con las respuestas a tres preguntas ¿equidad para qué y respecto a qué?, ¿existe la equidad total? y ¿es necesario monitorizar la equidad en salud en Cuba?(AU)
ABSTRACT
The concept of equity in general and equity in the field of health in particular, both in health outcomes and in health resources and services was examined. An autochtonous definition of equity was presented together with some basic ideas on measurement in health. The paper concluded with the answers to three questions equity for what and in relation to what? Is there total equity? Is monitoring of health equity in Cuba necessary?(AU)
