Hipertensión Arterial en mayores de 15 años atendidos por urgencia, 2007 / Hipertension in 15-year- old patients assisted at the emergency room, 2007

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio prospectivo y longitudinal con el objetivo de caracterizar el comportamiento de la hipertensión arterial en pacientes mayores de 15 años atendidos en el cuerpo de guardia del Policlínico Jimmy Hirzel de enero a diciembre de 2007. El universo estuvo constituido por 18549 pacientes que acudieron al cuerpo de guardia en ese período. Para la obtención de la información se revisaron las hojas de cargo emitidas por los médicos de guardia. Las variables de estudio fueron, edad, sexo, hipertensión ligera, moderada, severa, crisis hipertensiva, y distribución de casos por meses del año. Del total de pacientes que acudieron a solicitar atención médica en el cuerpo de guardia en el período el 14,2 por ciento estuvo representada por hipertensos. Las edades de 45-59 años, seguidas de las de 60 y más fueron las que mayor incidencia aportaron con 38.34 y 37.69 por ciento respectivamente. El 55.12 por ciento eran del sexo femenino. La hipertensión arterial ligera y moderada fueron las categorías que predominaron. Los meses de septiembre y agosto reportaron el mayor número de hipertensos atendidos en el cuerpo de guardia.(AU)

ABSTRACT

It was carried out a prospective and longitudinal research with the objective to characterize the high behaviour in patients older than 15 years assisted in the guard room of Jimmy Hirzel Policlinic since January to December 2007. The universe was made by 18549 patients that came to the guard room during that period. To get the information the doctors registers were reviewed. The studied variables were: age, sex light, moderated and severe hypertension, hypertensive crisis and distribution of cases by months. From all the patients that came to the guard room during that period, the 14,2 per cent was represented by hypertensive patients. The age from 45 to 59, 60 years and over were the ones that had more incidence, with 38,34 and 37,69 per cent. The 55,12 per cent were female. The light and moderated hypertensions were the most predominant categories. September and August were the months that reported the greatest number of hypertensive patients assisted in the guard room.(AU)
