Educación para la salud en escolares afectados por Gingivitis crónica / Health care education in students affected by chronic gingivitis

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio de intervención en estudiantes del séptimo grado de la escuela Secundaria Básica Urbana 30 Aniversario de la Batalla de Guisa del municipio Bayazo en el período comprendido desde Diciembre de 1999 hasta Marzo del 2001, con la finalidad de evaluar la evolución de la Gingivitis Crónica en escolares tratados con técnicas educativas. Se trabajó con dos grupos estudios afectados gingivalmente; los dos grupos recibieron la técnica educativa (charla) reforzándose la misma en uno de los grupos con la técnica afectivo-participativa. Se le aplicaron dos encuestas para medir el nivel de conocimiento sobre salud bucal antes y después de la intervención, así como el índice de higiene bucal (de Love) y el índice gingival de Loe y Silness, para valorar el estado de inflamación gingival, de cuyos resultados derivó que con la técnica educativa objeto de estudio se logró un cambio de actitud en los escolares afectados por Gingivitis crónica, evolucionando favorablemente en ambos grupos y un incremento de la higiene bucal aceptable después de la intervención(AU)

ABSTRACT

An intervention study was carried out on seventh.graders of Urban secondary School 30 Aniversario de la Batalla de Guisa from Bayamo municipality from December 1999 to March 2000 with the objective of evaluating chronic gingivitis evolution in students treated with educative techniques. Two groups affected gingival were included, both of them received educative technique (chats); in one of the groups it was reinforced with the affective-participative technique. It was applied two surveys to measure their knowledge level about buccal health before and after intervention, so as the buccal hygiene index (Love), and Loe and Silness gingival index to value the state of gingival swelling. From their results it was derived that with the educative technique aphid it was achieved an attitude change in the affected students by chronic gingivitis. The evolution was favourable in both groups. There was an acceptable increase in buccal hygiene after intervention(AU)
