La familia y el comportamiento del intento suicida / Family and behavior of the suicidal attempt

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio analítico, retrospectivo, caso control, con el objetivo de analizar el comportamiento del intento suicida y su relación con el funcionamiento familiar, en el área del Policlínico Martha Martínez Figuera en el municipio de Güines, en el año 2005. El grupo caso quedó constituido por los 55 intentos suicidas realizados en el tiempo de estudio y el grupo control se escogió de forma aleatoria, igual cantidad de personas que no habían realizado dicha conducta y que residían en la misma zona geográfica. Se estudiaron las variables como causas del intento suicida, estructura y funcionamiento familiar; se estableció la relación existente entre intento suicida y funcionamiento familiar. Se utilizaron encuestas y el test FF-SIL que mide funcionamiento familiar. El análisis estadístico de los porcentajes se realizó usando la tabla de contingencia a través de la dócima X2. En los casos que se alcanzó diferencia significativa se aplicó la dócima de Duncan y a las tablas de 2x2 el Odds Ratio o Razón de Productos Cruzados. Se obtuvo como resultado que los problemas familiares fueron la causa más frecuente de aparición del intento suicida, predominaron en ambos grupos las familias pequeñas, nucleares y bigeneracionales, y se demostró que el funcionamiento familiar es un riesgo relativo para la aparición del intento suicida(AU)

ABSTRACT

It was performed an analytical, retrospective, case-control study, with the objective of analyzing the behavior of the suicidal attempt and its relationship to family functioning in the area of Martha Martinez Figuera polyclinic in the municipality of Güines in 2005. The case group was composed of the 55 suicidal attempts in the study period and the control group was chosen at random. Equal numbers of people who had not had such conduct and who resided in the same geographical area. It was studied variables as causes of suicidal attempt, structure and family functioning, it was established the relationship between suicidal attempts and family functioning. Surveys were used and the FF-SIL test that measures family functioning. Statistical analysis of percentages was performed using the contingency table by docima X2. In the cases where a significant difference was reached, it was applied Duncan's docima and the odds ratio or cross product ratio to 2x2 tables. It was obtained as result that family problems were the most frequent occurrence of suicidal attempts, in both groups predominated small, nuclear and bigenerational families, and it was demonstrated that family functioning is a relative risk for the occurrence of suicidal attempts(AU)
