RESUMEN

Con el propósito de profundizar en los aspectos terapéuticos actualizados se revisó la temática asma para exponer de forma práctica y por preferencias las armas con que puede contar el médico general y especializado para enfrentar esta patología que a pesar de los avances en el tratamiento no ha podido resolverse de forma oportuna y eficaz. Varios factores han sido señalados como determinantes en la mortalidad, sin embargo, el personal médico habitualmente limita el tratamiento a las drogas tradicionales que expresan prontitud en la respuesta, pero que cuando de asma grave se trata deben ser acompañados de otras opciones que definitivamente ayudarán en los resultados finales(AU)

ABSTRACT

To deepen in the updated therapeutic aspects of critical asthma, this theme was reviewed to expose in a practical way, and by preferences, the weapons with which either a general practitioner or specialist can count on to face this pathology; that even with the advances achieved in treatment, has not been solved with efficacy and promptness. Several factors have been pointed out as determiners in mortality; however, the medical personnel often limit treatment to traditional drugs which express promptness in the patient s response, but when the problem is critical asthma, they should be accompanied by other drugs of choice that will definitely help in the final results(AU)
