Presentación educativa para adolescentes sobre VIH/SIDA / Educational presentation for adolescents on HIV/AIDS

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio de intervención educativa, para la cual se diseñó un estudio cuasi experimental de tipo antes y después sin grupo control. Se elaboró una presentación de educativa que incluía conocimientos acerca del VIH/SIDA y su prevención la cual fue aplicada a los a los alumnos de 10mo grado, en el período de septiembre a noviembre del 2008 en el IPVCE Félix Varela Morales, del municipio Melena del Sur, provincia La Habana, con el objetivo de evaluar la eficacia de dicho programa para modificar el nivel de conocimiento y la percepción de riesgo de los participantes acerca del VIH/SIDA. El universo de estudio estuvo constituido por 150 alumnos que manifestaron su disposición para participar de la investigación. La misma se llevó a cabo en tres etapas, diagnóstica, de intervención y evaluación final. Se demostró que la presentación educativo constituyó un método eficaz para elevar el nivel de conocimientos y la percepción de riesgo de los adolescentes sobre el VIH/ SIDA. El mismo fue de gran aceptación por parte de los estudiantes e incremento el uso de preservativo por parte de los mismos (AU)

ABSTRACT

A study of educational intervention was carried out, for which a quasi-experimental-before-after-type-without-control-group study was designed. It was developed an educational presentation that included knowledge on HIV/AIDS and its prevention, which was applied to students in 10th grade, in the period of September to November 2008 in Félix Varela Morales Pre-university Vocational Institute of Exact Sciences IPVCE, of Melena del Sur municipality, with the aim of evaluating the effectiveness of the program to change the level of knowledge and risk perception of participants about HIV/AIDS. The study group consisted of 150 students that indicated their willingness to participate in the study, which took place in three stages, diagnosis, intervention and final assessment. It was shown that the educational presentation was an effective method to raise the level of knowledge and the risk perception among adolescents on HIV/AIDS. The same was widely accepted by students and increased condom use by them (AU)
