RESUMEN

Introducción:

La calidad educativa deviene en propósito de la gestión institucional en la universidad.

Objetivo:

Contribuir a la actualización de los fundamentos teóricos referidos a la calidad de la educación superior y reflexionar sobre su importancia en el proceso de formación inicial en la carrera de Medicina. Desarrollo Se trabajó con técnicas cualitativas incluyendo revisión bibliográfica, análisis documental y consulta de expertos. Se profundiza en la fundamentación teórica de la calidad educativa y se analiza su repercusión en la formación médica definida en dos dimensiones pertinencia social y competencia clínica.

Conclusiones:

La calidad como condición multidimensional incluye aspectos cuantitativos y cualitativos e impacta en las funciones sustantivas, procesos y productos de la educación médica superior(AU)
ABSTRACT

Introduction:

Educational quality becomes a purpose of the institutional administration at the university.

Objective:

To contribute to the updating of theoretical foundations referred to quality of higher education and to reflect about their importance in the process of initial formation in the career of Medicine. Development Work was done with qualitative techniques including bibliographical review, documentary analysis and expert reviews. Some deepening is made into the theoretical foundation of educational quality and its repercussion is analyzed in the medical formation defined in two dimensions social relevancy and clinical competence.

Conclusions:

Quality as a multidimensional condition includes quantitative and qualitative aspects and it influences sustantial functions, processes and products of higher medical education(AU)
