Se realizó un estudio descriptivo prospectivo de una serie de casos en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital General Universitario Vladimir Ilich Lenin de Holguín desde febrero de 2008 hasta noviembre de 2009, con el objetivo de caracterizar la morbilidad y mortalidad de los pacientes ventilados por traumatismo craneoencefálico grave. El universo incluyó a todos los pacientes ingresados en dicha sala por trauma craneoencefálico grave y la muestra estuvo conformada por 43 pacientes que sobrevivieron por más de 48 h y aceptaron participar en el estudio...(AU)
ABSTRACT
A series of cases descriptive and prospective research, at Intensive Care Unit from Vladimir Ilich Lenin Hospital (February 2008 - November 2009) was done, aimed at describing the morbidity and mortality in patients with severe craniocephalic trauma and treated by mechanical ventilation. The universe included all hospitalized patients and 43 of them represented the sample who survived for more than 48 hours and accepted to take part of this study.
