RESUMEN
Fundamento El hemangioma rectal es una enfermedad infrecuente que afecta a adultos jóvenes. El signo de presentación más frecuente es el sangrado rectal indoloro. Presentación del caso Paciente femenina de 43 años con antecedente de rectorragias de causa no precisada desde hace tres años, a pesar de estudios endoscópicos que fueron normales. Se diagnostica el caso como una posible colitis ulcerativa; la paciente continuó con sangrado rectal que le produjo anemia severa y tenesmo intenso, por lo que se decide tratamiento quirúrgico. El estudio anatomopatológico informó la presencia de un hemangioma cavernoso del recto. Este caso es novedoso por lo infrecuente a nivel mundial. Conclusiones:

Background:
Rectal hemangioma is a rare disease that affects young adults. The most common presenting sign is painless rectal bleeding. Case presentation 43 year old female patient with a history of rectal bleeding of an undefined cause for three years, despite endoscopic studies were normal. The case is diagnosed as a possible ulcerative colitis. The patient continued with rectal bleeding which caused her severe anemia and intense tenesmus, therefore, a surgical treatment was applied. The pathological study confirmed the presence of a cavernous hemangioma of the rectum. This case is novel as it is rare worldwide.Conclusions:
The patient improved and had no postoperative complications
