RESUMEN
El pie diabético se considera un problema de salud a escala mundial debido a queocasiona un alto número de ingresos en los servicios hospitalarios. Con el objetivo decaracterizar los pacientes con esta enfermedad y conocer su comportamiento, serealizó un estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo, de serie de casos en el que se registraronlos datos de los pacientes que ingresaron durante un período de 15 meses con eldiagnóstico de pie diabético, según la clasificación de Wagner, en el Servicio de Angiología y Cirugía Vascular del Hospital Militar Fermín Valdez Domínguez de la provincia Holguín. El pie diabético acumuló el 53 por ciento del total de ingresos en el servicio. Se observó un predominio de pacientes entre los 51 y los 60 años de edad, del sexo femenino. Los grados 2 y 1 de la clasificación de Wagner fueron los más frecuentes. Se realizaron 41 operaciones, aproximadamente la mitad necreptomías, con una tendencia a la realización de operaciones conservadoras y una pobre utilización de los procedimientos quirúrgicos vasculares(AU)
ABSTRACT
The diabetic foot is considered a worldwide health problem that causes a high number of admissions in hospital services. A descriptive and reptrospective research aimed atcharacterizing the behavior of this disease was performed. In this work the patients admitted at this Service during a period of ,15, months with the diagnosis of diabetic foot according to Wagner's classification in Angiology and Vascular Surgery Service of the Fermín Valdez Domínguez Military Hospital were studied. The diabetic foot Irepresented ,53 percent, of patients. Female patients between ,51, to ,60, years predominated. The degrees ,2, and ,1, according to Wagner's classification represented a higher incidence. Fourty one operations were done, and a half of them were necreptomies. There was a tendency to give conservative surgical treatment , and a poor use ofvascular surgical procedures was observed(AU)
