Comportamiento del reintento suicida en adolescentes en servicios de atención al grave / Manifestation of the Suicide re attempt of Adolescents in the Assistance to Critically Ill Patients

RESUMEN

Con el objetivo de caracterizar clínica y epidemiológicamente a los adolescentes con reintento suicida, se realizó un estudio transversal en 36 pacientes con dicho diagnóstico, los cuales necesitaron atención de urgencia en las salas de terapia intensiva e intermedia, en el Hospital Pediátrico Docente Provincial Mártires de Las Tunas, en el período de enero de 2009 a diciembre de 2011. La recolección de la información se realizó a través de una encuesta y la revisión de los expedientes clínicos. El grupo de edad más significativo fue entre 16 y 19 años, con predominio del sexo femenino y escolaridad secundaria sin terminar. Los conflictos familiares y los antecedentes de suicidio en la familia fueron relevantes. El método más frecuente fue la ingestión de psicofármacos. La repercusión clínica y la neurológica fueron significativas, así como la depresión fue el diagnóstico psiquiátrico más manifiesto. No hubo fallecidos en nuestro estudio por esta causa (AU)

ABSTRACT

To determine the clinical and epidemiological behavior of adolescents who have attempted suicide for a second time, a transversal study was carried out in 36 patients who were diagnosed and admitted at the intensive and progressive care units at Mártires de Las Tunas Pediatric Hospital from January 2009 to December 2011. The information was collected by means of a questionnaire and the revision of the clinical records. The most significant age group was between 16 and 19 years, prevailing females and adolescents who have not finished high school. Family conflicts and suicide antecedents in the family were relevant. The most frequent method for suicide was the pills ingestion. The clinical and neurological consequences were noteworthy, as well as the depression was the most significant psychiatric diagnosis. There was no decease due to this cause in our study (AU)
