RESUMEN

La enfermera ha estado presente en todas las luchas por la emancipación de la patria desde el comienzo en la guerra grande, muchas de ellas se incorporaron a la manigua y cuidaron a los mambises que resultaban heridos o enfermaban en el campo de batalla. Se realiza un recuento histórico de la Enfermería desde el surgimiento de la misma hasta la actualidad en el Hospital General Docente Dr Agostinho Neto de Guantánamo, mediante la revisión escrita y la relatoría de enfermeros con años de experiencia de trabajo en la institución (AU)

ABSTRACT
