RESUMEN
Con el objetivo de realizar el diagnóstico de Giardia Lamblia por dos métodos de investigación se realizó un estudio descriptivo, prospectivo, en el Policlínico 13 de Marzo a niños de 4 meses a 14 años de edad, que llegaron a consulta de Pediatría por diferentes motivos en el periodo comprendido entre el 1 de Enero y el 31 de Diciembre del 2009. El universo estuvo representado por 124 niños y la muestra por 62 niños a los cuales se les indicaron los complementarios. Se encontró baja productividad con el método heces fecales, siendo éste menos efectivo que la intubación duodenal. La malnutrición por defecto y el cuadro clínico sintomático influyeron en la mayor productividad de la intubación duodenal, método que fue menos costoso según el estudio(AU)
ABSTRACT
It was performed a prospective descriptive study to children who were between the ages of 4 months and 14 years old. They went to a pediatrics consult in the period from January-December, 2009 due to different reasons. This study was performed with the purpose to make the diagnosis of Giardia Lamblia by means of two research methods in the Polychlinic 13 de Marzo. The universe was represented by 124 children and the sample by 62 children, who were prescribed with complementaries.As a result, it was found low productivity with the feces method, being this one less effective than the duodenal intubation. While, with the duodenal intubation which was a less expensive method according to the study, there was a bigger productivity that was influenced by malnutrition and by symptomatic clinical manifestation(EU)
