Heberprot-P® y escleroterapia con espuma unidos en el tratamiento de la insuficiencia venosa crónica / Heberprot-P® plus foam sclerotherapy to treat chronic venous insufficiency

RESUMEN

Introducción: la insuficiencia venosa crónica de no ser tratada adecuadamente progresará hacia fases más graves y la complicación más temida y frecuente lo constituye la úlcera venosa. En ocasiones para su resolución es necesaria la combinación de diferentes tratamientos. Presentación del caso paciente de 57 años del sexo masculino, diabético, hipertenso y obeso, con el diagnóstico de una insuficiencia venosa crónica complicada con una úlcera venosa en el miembro inferior derecho. Para el cierre de la úlcera, se escogió como método de tratamiento el uso del Heberprot-P® y para el síndrome varicoso, la escleroterapia con espuma. No se presentaron complicaciones. En el tratamiento de la insuficiencia venosa complicada con úlcera venosa, es prudente no solo realizar el tratamiento dirigido al cierre de la úlcera, sino también tratar su causa, la hipertensión venosa. Conclusiones: la combinación de Heberprot-P® y esclerosis con espuma en el tratamiento de la insuficiencia venosa crónica complicada con úlcera venosa, tuvo un resultado satisfactorio(AU)

ABSTRACT

Introduction: chronic venous insufficiency, if not properly treated, may evolve into more serious stages and the most frequent and dreadful complication is vein ulcer. The combination of different treatment is sometimes necessary to eliminate it.Case presentation a 57 years-old male, diabetic, hypertensive and obese patient diagnosed as having chronic venous insufficiency complicated with a venous ulcer in the right lower limb. The use of Heberprot-P® (human recombinant growth factor) was chosen as a method of treatment to close the ulcer whereas foam sclerotherapy was applied to the recurrent varicose veins. There were no complications during the treatment. As part of the therapy of complicated venous insufficiency with venous ulcer, it is advisable not only to treat the ulcer but also the vein hypertension which is the cause. Conclusions: the combination of Heberprot-P® and foam sclerotherapy in the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency complicated with venous ulcer had satisfactory results(AU)
