Tumor de Mediastino: presentación de un caso / Mediastinal tumor. A case presentation

RESUMEN

El mediastino tiene características embriológicas, fisiológicas y anatómicas particulares. A través de él pasan sangre, linfa, aire y el alimento ingerido; es además, el área donde mayor actividad reflejan los nervios autónomos. A este nivel ocurre el desarrollo embriológico de los sistemas circulatorio, respiratorio y digestivo, por lo que constituye asiento de malformaciones congénitas de diversa índole, que junto a procesos inflamatorios, traumáticos y neoplásicos, hacen de él un compartimiento muy complejo donde se presenta una amplia variedad de enfermedades. Se presenta el caso de un adolescente de 14 años de edad ingresado en le servicio de Respiratorio del Hospital Pediátrico Docente General Luis A. Milanés Tamayo en el mes de febrero del año 2012, con antecedentes de salud, que es atendido en nuestro centro por enfermedad inflamatoria del pulmón, aparece una tumoración de mediastino obtenida por rayos X de tórax y una tomografía axial computarizada. Se corroboró el diagnóstico de un linfoma Hodgkin después de toma de muestra realizada por toracotomía(AU)

ABSTRACT

The mediastinum has some particular embryological, physiological and anatomical characteristics. Th blood, the lymph, the air and the ingested food pass through it; besides it is the area where the autonomous nerves develop a greater activity. In this level occurs the embryological development of the circulatory, respiratory and digestive system, for which it constitutes a seat for congenital malformations of several kinds, and with the inflamatory, traumatic and neoplasic processes, make a complex compartment where it is presented a wide variety of illnesses. It was presented the case of a 14 year- old- teenager hospitalized in the Respiratory Service of the Pediatric Educational Hospital General Luis A. Milanés Tamayo in February, 2012, with health antecedents, he was attended in our center for an inflammatory lung condition, mediastina tumor appeared and it was obtained through the X-rays of the thorax and a computerized axial tomography. It confirmed the diagnostic of a Hodgkin lymphoma after taking a sample by thoracotomy(EU)
