Dermatomiositis: presentación de un caso pediátrico / Dermatomyositis. A pediatric case

RESUMEN

Se trata de un paciente de 4 años de edad con el diagnóstico de dermatomiositis, enfermedad rara, que aparece a cualquier edad, pero sobre todo entre los 40 y 60 años o en niños, entre los 5 y 15 años. El objetivo es resaltar la importancia del diagnóstico precoz de esta entidad y la necesidad de instaurar un tratamiento inmediato. Además se revisan aspectos diagnósticos y terapéuticos de la entidad. En este caso el comienzo de la enfermedad se presentó de forma aguda. Los síntomas iniciales fueron la debilidad muscular proximal, la erupción cutánea y edema periorbitario con forma de heliotropo. La enfermedad evolucionó con un curso acelerado. Se concluye que el diagnóstico precoz de la enfermedad guarda relación paralela con el pronóstico(AU)

ABSTRACT

This research is about a 4-year-old patient with Dermatomyositis; a weird disease that occurs at any age, but maily between 40 and 60 years or in children between 5 and 15 years. The aim of this work is to emphasize the importance of early diagnosis of this entity and the need to establish an immediate treatment. Diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of the entity are also reviewed. In this case the beginning of the disease occurred in acute form. The initial symptoms were proximal muscle weakness, skin rash and periorbital Heliotrope-shaped swelling. The disease has evolved with a crash course. It was concluded that early diagnosis of the disease is related to the prognosis(EU)
