Comportamiento de las lesiones traumáticas en niños y adolescentes en un área de salud de Camagüey / Behavior of traumatic lesions in children and adolescents in a health area of Camagüey

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal en 110 pacientes, con el objetivo de determinar el comportamiento de los traumatismos dentoalveolares en la población de 5 a 18 años, en el consultorio 25 de previsora en Camagüey, durante el período comprendido de mayo del 2012 a junio del 2013. Se utilizó la clasificación de Ingeborg Jacobsen para determinar los tipos de traumatismos. Los datos se obtuvieron del examen bucal y quedaron plasmados en la Historia clínica de salud bucal individual. Para la representación de los resultados se emplearon tablas, donde se utilizaron números absolutos y porcentuales. La prevalencia de los traumatismos dentales se manifestó en un 24.55 por ciento de los casos. El grupo de edad de 12 a 14 años fue el más afectado con un 31.25 por ciento. Los varones revelaron una mayor predisposición al exponer un 32.00 por ciento de traumatizados, las caídas representaron el 48.15 por ciento de las causas. Los dientes más afectados fueron los incisivos centrales superiores y la lesión predominante fue la fractura no complicada de corona, con un 44.74 por ciento. La cuarta parte de los pacientes presentaron trauma dental, predominó el grupo de 12 a 14 años y el sexo masculino como los más afectados, las caídas fueron la etiología más frecuente. El incisivo central superior derecho fue el diente más lesionado y la fractura no complicada de la corona fue el tipo de lesión más usual (AU)

ABSTRACT

A cross-sectional, descriptive study was carried out in 110 patients with the objective of determining the behavior of dentoalveolar traumatisms in patients from 5 to 18 years old in the 25 health center of Previsora in Camagüey, from May 2012 to June 2013. The classification of Ingeborg Jacobsen was used to determine the types of traumatisms. The information was obtained from the oral exam and they were recorded on the oral health medical card. For the representation of the results, charts with absolute and percentage numbers were used. The prevalence of dental traumatisms appeared in the 24.55 percent of the cases. The age group of 12 to 14 years was the most affected with a 31.25 percent. Males showed a greater predisposition being the 32.00 percent of the traumatized patients; falls represented the 48.15 percent of the causes. The most affected teeth were the upper central incisive and the predominant lesion was the non-complicated fracture of crown, with a 44.74 percent. The fourth part of the patients presented dental trauma, prevailing the group from 12 to 14 years and the male sex was more affected; the falls were the most frequent cause. The right upper central incisive was the most injured tooth and the non-complicated fracture of the crown was the more common lesion (AU)
