RESUMEN
El Síndrome de Prune-Belly es una entidad definida de etiología desconocida, que consiste de un espectro de malformaciones congénitas capaces de conllevar el embarazo a aborto, o a complicaciones post-natales, usualmente urinarias, de diverso grado de morbilidad/mortalidad, las que determinarán el desenlace del infante nacido con la afección. Aunque es un cuadro clínico que reporta una muy baja mortalidad, sus consecuencias son diversas para la salud y calidad de vida de los infantes. En el presente trabajo se reporta un caso de Prune-Belly que nació a las 36 semanas de gestación, el cual presentó los hallazgos clásicos de este infrecuente síndrome
ABSTRACT
The Prune-Belly syndrome is a distinct entity of unknown etiology, consisting of a spectrum of congenital malformations able to lead the pregnancy to abortion, or post-natal complications usually urinary of varying degrees of morbidity / mortality, which will determine the outcome of the infant born with this condition. Although it is a clinical picture with a very low mortality, the consequences are different for health and quality of infants life. In this research a case of Prune-Belly that was born at 36 weeks gestation, who presented the classic findings of this rare syndrome is reported (AU)
