RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal a 621 personas de ambos sexos y 6 grupos de edades en el consultorio 131 del reparto Roberto Reyes, perteneciente a la Clínica Estomatológica Docente en el período de enero 2001 a febrero 2002, con el objetivo de determinar el estado de salud bucal de esta población. Los encuestados fueron visitados en el hogar a quienes se le realizó el examen clínico y para la recolección de datos necesarios para la confección de esta investigación nos auxiliamos del registro poblacional del médico de la familia, encuesta básica de la salud de la OMS, historia de salud bucal familiar y la de la persona; utilizando las variables edad, estado de la dentición permanente, periodontal, de la oclusión, de la articulación temporamandibular en el comportamiento de la morbilidad bucal e identificar las necesidades de tratamiento estomatológico. Los resultados arrojaron que el índice de COP más alto fue en los grupos de edades de 35-59 años y de 60 y más, este último fue el de mayor por ciento en el estado periodontal, en el estado de la oclusión el grupo de edad con más alteración fue en el de 5-11 años. En la articulación temporamandibular la mayor alteración fue el grupo de 60 y más años con 58,4 por ciento; el grupo más necesitado de prótesis fue el de 35-59 años con 76,8 por ciento(AU)

ABSTRACT

It was performed a descriptive transversal study to 621 persons of both sexes and 6 age groups in the medical office 131 of Roberto Reyes, belonging to the Stomatologic Teaching Clinic in the period from January 2001 to February 2002, with the objective of determining the State of oral health of this population. The surveyed were visited at home and the clinical examination was made. For the collection of the necessary data for the preparation of this research we required the population registry of the family doctor, a basic health survey of the OMS, the family medical record of oral health; using the variables like age, status of the permanent, periodontal dentition, the occlusion and the temporomandibular articulation in the behavior of oral morbidity oral as well ass to identify the needs for stomachological treatment. The results evidenced that the highest COP index was found in the ages between 35-59 and 60 and over, the last group had the largest percent in the periodontal state, in the occlusion state the age group with more alterations was between 5-11 years. In the temporomandibular articulation the greatest alteration was the group of 60 and more years with 58.4 percent; the prosthetic group mostly needed was between 35-59 years with 76.8 percent(EU)
