El método clínico: evaluación de su aplicación en el curso 2012-2013 por estudiantes del 5to año de la carrera de Medicina del Hospital Provincial “Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola” de Ciego de Ávila / The clinical method: evaluation of its implementation in the year 2012-2013 by the students of 5th year of the medicine career, of the Provincial Hospital "Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola" in Ciego de Avila

RESUMEN

El objetivo de este trabajo es verificar la aplicación del método clínico por los estudiantes de quinto año de la carrera de Medicina en la educación en el trabajo, e identificar las principales deficiencias encontradas en el empleo de tan importante método en la práctica médica. La investigación se ejecutó en el Servicio de Urología con los estudiantes que rotaron en el período que comprende septiembre de 2012 hasta julio de 2013. La población estuvo compuesta por 135 estudiantes los cuales fueron observados y encuestados intencionalmente según criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Del diagnóstico emergió como resultado que el 70,4 por ciento de los estudiantes no dominan el concepto, que el 81,4 por ciento no cumple con las etapas del método y que se cometen iatrogenias cuando se emplea el mismo. La principal causa está dada por la falta de autopreparación de los estudiantes. Del análisis documental se obtuvo que el tratamiento de los contenidos que conforman el método clínico, aparece de forma fragmentada y sin una sistematización coherente. Estos resultados indican la necesidad de un accionar para desarrollar esta habilidad en los estudiantes de 5to año de la carrera de Medicina del Hospital Provincial Docente Dr Antonio Luaces Iraola (AU)

ABSTRACT

The objective of this study is to verify the application of the clinical method in education in the work by the students of the 5th year of medicine career and identify the main deficiencies found in the use of such an important method in medical practice. The research was executed from the Urology service with the students who rotated in the period that includes September 2012 until July 2013. The population was composed of 135 students who were observed and surveyed intentionally according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. From the diagnosis emerged as a result that 70.4 por percent of students do not dominate the concept, the 81.4 percent not achieve with the stages of the method and it was committed iatrogenic causes when using it. The main cause is given by the lack of self-training of students. From the documentary analysis was obtained that treatment to the contents that make up the clinical method appear fragmented and without a coherent systematization. These results indicate the need for a trigger to develop this skill in the students of 5th year of the medicine career of the Provincial Teaching Hospital Dr Antonio Luaces Iraola (AU)
