ABSTRACT
It was presented a case of a patient with health antecedents who was hospitalized in our hospital with Primary Candida Meningoencephalitis, an extremely weird pathology since the systemic infections by funguses were observed in patients with evident inmune supression characteristics that did not exist in this patient; there were presented the characteristics of the case and a comment of the results taking into account the aspects referred by the universal literature. The Meningoencephalitis is an inflammation of the arachnoid, the pia mater and the cephalorraquideum fluid. The inflammatory process spreads all over the subarachnoid space of the encephalon and the spinal cord, and in a regular way it affects the ventricles, the fundamental cause is regularly a bacterial infection that produces a polimorphonuclear reaction in the cephalorraquideum fluid; there are other less frequent forms characterized by a reaction of mononuclear cells in the cephalorraquideum fluid, (1) the mycosics are between them and inside these last ones the meningoencephalitis by Candida Albicans is extremely unfrequent and seems to the manifestations produced by the Cryptococcosis, another mycosis. The mycotic infections can be superficial and profound (systemic), these last ones have fatal frequency, in the case of the candidiasis, the mucocutaneous forms are the most frequent, although the kidney can be affected, as well as the heart, thyroids, pancreas, liver and brain among other organs and visceras (2,3); this last topic is the subject of our work(EU)
