Eficacia y seguridad del TISUACRYL en el tratamiento de la estomatitis aftosa / Effectiveness and safety of TISUACRYL in the aphthous stomatitis treatment

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio experimental tipo ensayo clínico, fase II, aleatorizado, controlado y con evaluación a ciegas por tercero para evaluar la eficacia y seguridad del Tisuacryl® en el tratamiento de la estomatitis aftosa en el departamento de Periodoncia de la clínica estomatológica de los policlínicos universitarios Bayamo Oeste y René Vallejo, desde junio del 2007 hasta junio del 2008. Participaron 70 pacientes que se aleatorizaron en dos grupos de tratamiento, uno de estudio y otro de control. Al grupo B (estudio) se le aplicó Tisuacryl® y al grupo A (control) tratamiento convencional. La información fue procesada mediante los programas estadísticos profesionales Statistica 8 y SPSS 12.1, se utilizó el chi-cuadrado para demostrar la homogeneidad entre ambos grupos al inicio del estudio y las pruebas de Cochran Q y Kruskal Wallis para corroborar la hipótesis. El tratamiento con Tisuacryl® obtuvo buenos resultados, quedó demostrada la seguridad y su eficacia en un 85,7 por ciento. Los pacientes del grupo estudio presentaron una mejor evolución en menor tiempo que los del grupo control. Se recomienda realizar un estudio sobre la recurrencia de la estomatitis aftosa según edad y sexo de los pacientes tratados con este adhesivo tisular(AU)

ABSTRACT

It was performed an experimental, clinical, randomized and controlled type II study, with a third blind evaluation in order to assess the effectiveness and safety of the Tisuacryl® in aphthous stomatitis treatment in the Periodontics department at the University Polyclinics West Bayamo and René Vallejo, since June, 2007 until June of the 2008. 70 patients participated and they were randomized into two groups of treatment the study and control ones. Tisuacryl® was applied to group B (study) and the conventional treatment was applied to group B (control). The information was processed by means of the professional statistical programs Statistics 8 and SPSS 12.1, the chi-squared test was used to show the homogeneity between both groups at the beginning of the study and the Cochran Q and Kruskal Wallis tests corroborated the hypothesis. The treatment with Tisuacryl® obtained good results, and its safety and efficiency was evidenced in 85.7 percent. The patients of the study group presented a better evolution than the ones of the control group in a shorter period of time. It was recommended to perform a study on the recurrence of the aphthous stomatitis according to the age and sex of the patients treated with this tissue adhesive(EU)
