RESUMEN

En esta revisión ponemos a disposición del personal tanto médico como paramédico y demás integrantes de los servicios de salud mental de hospitales y atención primaria, aspectos de interés sobre el tema de la comorbilidad psiquíatrica en poblaciones con necesidades cognitivas especiales. Se describe el recorrido histórico del problema desde los orígenes del mismo desde Krapelín hasta nuestros días; encontrando una situación médica bien antigua en su identificación, con observaciones brillantes desde aquella época. Pero con el desarrollo de la psiquiatría como especialidad los terapeutas han olvidado en buena medida considerar y enriquecer esta situación médica para el manejo de muchos síntoma que conforman cuadros clínicos en los retrasados mentales y muchas veces se valoran como síntoma aislados e inespecíficos por modificaciones que presentan sobre la base en que se injertan, trayendo como consecuencia evolución tórpida, complicaciones, poli terapia con toxicidad conductual para el paciente e insatisfacción para la familia. Se hace un análisis del comportamiento epidemiológico de este problema comprobándose su elevada prevalencia que alcanza valores hasta de 20 y 65 por ciento en Europa y hasta de 3 a 4 veces superior a la tasas de trastornos mentales en población general en EUA (Estados Unidos de América). Se valora además los principales diagnósticos que se registran planteándose que pueden aparecer todos los trastornos psiquiátricos descritos en las clasificaciones diagnósticas con particularidades de mayor frecuencia para algunos tipos de diagnósticos en relación con el grado de retraso mental(AU)

ABSTRACT

In this revision we put to the personnel's disposition so much medical as paramedic and other members of the services of mental health of hospitals and primary attention; Aspects of interest on the topic of the psychiatric comorbility in populations with necessities special cognitive. The historical journey of the problem is described from the origins of the same one from Krapelín until our days; finding a very old medical situation in their identification, with brilliant observations from that time. But with the development of the psychiatry like specialty the therapists have forgotten in good measure to consider and to enrich this medical situation for the handling of many symptom that they conform clinical squares in the retarded mental and many times they are valued as isolated symptom and inespecific by modifications that present on the base in that they are implanted, resulting in torpid evolution, complications, many therapy with behavioral toxicity for the patient and dissatisfaction for the family.
