RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio con el objetivo de determinar el conocimiento que tienen las madres de lactantes acerca de las infecciones respiratorias agudas (IRA). El universo estuvo constituido por 217 madres de lactantes pertenecientes al Grupo Básico de Trabajo No. 1 del Policlínico Universitario Asdrúbal López Vázquez de Guantánamo durante el periodo enero a diciembre de 2013. El dato primario se obtuvo mediante una encuesta confeccionada por lo autores que fue aplicada por la autora a las 217 madres que concurrieron a consultas de Puericultura o de Pediatría, previo consentimiento informado. Se determinó que el conocimiento acerca del tema es insuficiente y por consiguiente las prácticas no son adecuadas(AU)

ABSTRACT

A study was performed in order to determine the knowledge that mothers of infants have on acute respiratory infections (ARI). The universe was constituted by 217 mothers of infants belonging to the Basic Working Group 1 at the Polyclinic Asdrubal López Vázquez in Guantanamo from January to December 2013. The primary data was obtained through a survey compiled by authors and was applied by one of them to 217 mothers who were attended Pediatric consultation, prior informed consent. It was determined that the knowledge on the subject is insufficient and therefore the practice is not adequate(AU)
