Caracterización de los accidentes en la población pediátrica atendida en el Hospital General Docente Héroes del Baire en el año 2003

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo-trasversal con el objetivo de efectuar una caracterización clínica-epidemiológica en los pacientes pediátricos evaluados y atendidos por accidentes, en el Servicio de Urgencia de Pediatría del Hospital General Docente Héroes del Baire de la Isla de la Juventud, en el año 2003.Se encontró que el sexo masculino prevaleció sobre el femenino, sobretodo en niños de 1–4 años de edad. El Área de Salud con más pacientes accidentados fue el Policlínico # 2. Los Consejos Populares de mayor accidentalidad Abel Santamaría y Micro 70 respectivamente. Al mismo tiempo, el lugar de mayor ocurrencia de accidente fue el hogar.Se evaluó el estado al llegar los pacientes al centro de atención, así como su evolución futura. Se evidenció la prevalencia de los accidentes con carácter leve, demostrándose que más del 68 porciento de los pacientes evolucionaron hacia la curación sin secuelas.Los factores de riesgos con mayor recurrencia fueron la deambulación por las alturas, ingestión o intoxicación de sustancias extrañas o tóxicas y fármacos, objetos punzantes y cortantes al alcance de los infantes dejados solos sin la presencia del adulto o tutor, etc.Los accidentes más frecuentes en las edades pediátricas son las caídas, traumatismos craneofaciales (T.C.F) y las heridas(AU)

ABSTRACT

It was carried out a descriptive-traverse study with the objective of carrying out a clinic-epidemic characterization in the pediatric patients that have suffered any accident that were evaluated and assisted in the Pediatrics Accident and Emergency Unit at Heroes del Baire Hospital in the Isle of Youth on 2003.It was found that the masculine sex prevailed on the feminine sex, mostly on in children from 1 to 4 years old. Most of the injured people by accidents were found at the policlinic #2, as well as the popular advice of more accidentabilidad were those of Abel Santamaría, Micro 70 respectively. The place of more accident occurrence was also the home. Most of the accidents occurred at Abel Santa Maria and Micro 70 respectively, specifically at home.It was evaluated the state when arriving the patients to the center of attention as well as their future evolution. It was evidenced the prevailed of the accident with light character being demonstrated that more than the 68 percent of the patients evolved toward the cure without sequels.The factors of risks with higher opposing were being for the heights, ingestion or intoxication with strange or toxic substances, piercing and sharp objects within reach of the infants, among others.The most frequent accidents in the pediatric ages are The falls, craneofaciales traumatisms (T.C.F), and the wounds among others(AU)
