Sepsis grave en el paciente crítico. Nuevos conceptos y consensos

RESUMEN

Con el objetivo de dar a conocer las pautas fundamentales que permiten hacer el diagnóstico y tratamiento de la sepsis, y actualizar al personal médico para enfrentar el problema global que supone el incremento de la mortalidad. Se expusieron algunas controversias en cuanto al uso de los esteroides. Se incluyen nuevos tratamientos como la proteína C activada, que constituye una promesa, aún con estudios insuficientemente respaldados por altos niveles de evidencia(AU)

ABSTRACT

With the objective of presenting the fundamental guidelines that allow to make the diagnosis and treatment of the sepsis and to update the medical personnel that face the global problem which is suppose to increase mortality. Some controversies as far as the use of steroids were exposed. New treatments like the activated protein C, that constitutes a promise, with insufficiently studies endorsed by high levels of evidence are still included(AU)
