Retinopatía de la prematuridad. Comportamiento en la Isla de la Juventud de enero del 2009 a diciembre del 2010 / Retinopathy of prematurity. Behavior in the Isle of the Youth of January of the 2009 to December of the 2010

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio prospectivo de corte transversal en la unidad de cuidados intensivos neonatales del Hospital Héroes del Baire del Municipio Especial Isla de la Juventud en el periodo de enero del 2009 a diciembre del 2010, en la consulta especializada en Retinopatía de la Prematuridad que se realiza en el servicio a todos los neonatos que tienen criterios de pesquisaje. El universo se conformó por los 82 neonatos que fueron ingresados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos neonatales, la muestra quedo constituida por 18 neonatos. Al grupo de estudio se le realizó examen de fondo de ojo mediante la técnica de Oftalmoscopía Indirecta bajo dilatación pupilar, siendo evaluados cada quince días por especialistas de Oftalmología; Obteniendo que el 33.33 por ciento de los prematuros desarrollo Retinopatía de la prematuridad, el 72 por ciento de los prematuros estuvo entre 33 y 34 semanas, según peso al nacer la mayoría estaban entre 1500 y 1999 gramos, el 83 por ciento de los pacientes tuvo criterio de tamizaje, predominó el oxigeno como principal factor de riesgo y solo un paciente recibió tratamiento con fotocoagulación con láser(AU)

ABSTRACT

A longitudinal prospective study of 82 premature admitted in the premature intensive care unit of the Hospital Heroes of the Baire of the special municipality Isle of Youth from january 2009 to december 2010 was carried out, in the specialized consultation in retinopathy to all premature who have investigation approaches. The universe of our study was 82 neonatus admited in neonatal intensive care unit, and the sample for 18 neonatus. To the study group an exam of eye bottom was carried out by means of the technique of indirect ophtalmoscopic pupilar dilation, being evaluated every fifteen days by specialists of Ophthalmology.33.33 percent of the premature developed ROP, 50 percent of the premature were ones was between 33 and 34 weeks, according to weight when being born most of them were between 1500 and 1999 grams, 83 percent of the patients had sifts approach, it prevailed oxygen as the main risk factor and only one patient received treatment with laser therapy(AU)
