Pera para aspiración mantenida en el tratamiento del otohematoma / Pear for maintained aspiration in the treatment of otohematoma

RESUMEN

Fundamento el otohematoma es una afección de origen traumática del pabellón auricular que se caracteriza por aumento de volumen, deformidad, dolor y tendencia a secuelas antiestéticas de no ser adecuada y oportuna la terapéutica impuesta.Objetivo: mostrar los resultados del tratamiento del otohematoma con el uso de la pera con aspiración mantenida.Métodos: se realizó un estudio cuasiexperimental en pacientes portadores de otohematomas del pabellón auricular por diversas causas. El universo lo constituyeron 60 pacientes que acudieron a la consulta de Otorrinolaringología y Cirugía de Cabeza y Cuello del Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico Octavio de la Concepción y de la Pedraja, desde enero de 2012 hasta diciembre 2014. A 30 pacientes se les realizó el método terapéutico convencional y en otros 30, se utilizó una pera para aspiración mantenida según técnica propuesta.Resultados: predominó en las edades entre la segunda y tercera década de la vida y la mayoría de enfermo en el sexo masculino. Las actividades deportivas, laborales y militares ocuparon los primeros lugares como causas de otohematomas. Los pacientes del grupo estudio curaron de forma rápida en más de la mitad de los pacientes. Las complicaciones fueron infrecuentes en el grupo estudio. Los resultados del tratamiento quirúrgico fueron excelente en el grupo estudio y superiores al grupo control.Conclusiones: fueron superiores los resultados clínicos, terapéuticos, sociales y militares para los pacientes a los que se les aplicó la técnica propuesta(AU)

ABSTRACT

Background: the otohematoma is a condition of traumatic origin of the auricular pavilion that is characterized by volume increase, deformity, pain and a tendency to unsightly sequels if the imposed therapy is not adequate and timely.Objective: to show the results of the treatment of the otohematoma with the use of the pear with maintained aspiration.Methods: a quasi-experimental study was carried out in patients with otohematomas of the auricular pavilion for various reasons. The universe consisted of 60 patients who attended the Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery clinic in Octavio de la Concepción and Pedraja hospital, from January 2012 to December 2014. 30 patients underwent the conventional therapeutic method and in another 30, a pear was used for maintained suction according to the proposed technique.Results: the disease prevailed in ages within the second and third decade of life and most of the patients were males. Sport, work and military activities occupied the first places as causes of otohematomas. More than half of the patients from the study group cured in a fast way. Complications were infrequent in that group. The results of surgical treatment in the study group were satisfactory and superior to those from the control group.Conclusions: the clinical, therapeutic, social and military results were higher for the patients to whom the proposed technique was applied(AU)
