ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we will present the profile of Saúde em Debate in its first phase of operation and show the concern of editorialists in disseminating proposals that contribute to an institutional and managerial renewal in Public Health. The origin of the Center, the structure of the institution, its working conditions, the support it received and the production transmitted to it, the institutional objectives of the Center, the profile of the national board, the functioning of the entity and its main interlocutors will also be discussed. With regard to the first phase of the journal, the main discussions are related to the denunciation of inequities existing in the Health System
