ABSTRACT
Vaccination is the most effective measure against biological risk. Sometimes workers reject specific health surveillance and vaccination. In occupational medicine there is sufficient consensus on whether the refusal to be vaccinated should not be a criterion of fitness. The legislation is not explicit but there is a majority view that if there is a risk to others would be justified unfitness. The group in which vaccination may have more importance is the health workers, as well as their health can affect patients. In the European Union there is no consensus on vaccination in health care workers, which may lead to a minimization of risk and a lack of information on risks and benefits of vaccination. Some recommendations and common qualification standards will help reduce morbidity and mortality and are efficient sanitary (AU)
