ABSTRACT
The newborn infant will encounter certain adults inhabited by their own history (conscious and unconscious). The part of history that has not acceded to «repression-symbolization-word-presentation», as it remains unbound, will circulate within the link between parent and child through acts, silences, double messages, and so on. The unbound psychic material will create within the infant a strange experience of «something perceived but unnamed», which will confuse it and cause it to doubt its perceptive capacity. The child's need to be loved and to love will lead the infant to identify with figures with affective for it, including in adhesive and alienating identifications with that which is familially permitted to be said, or with that which demands to be silenced. The «unsaid» and/or «unthought» will remain as unrepressed psychic material, giving rise to «partial» modes of living, not crossed by castration and the renouncement of infantile omnipotence. These are transgressive and persecutory guilt-generating aspects, for which the individual must pay in his or her personal, family, professional, educational and/or social life (AU)
