RESUMEN

Los triptanes se consideran el tratamiento más eficaz para las crisis agudas de migraña, no sólo por su capacidad para abortar las crisis de migraña en el plazo de 2 horas, sino también porque mantienen este estado durante al menos 24 horas, sin precisar medicación de rescate. Se suma a esto, su buen perfil de seguridad. Se han comercializado 7 triptanes diferentes para el tratamiento de la migraña. Todo parece indicar que las diferencias entre todos ellos en cuanto a eficacia y seguridad son mínimas, aunque éstas pueden ser clínicamente relevantes a la hora de personalizar el tratamiento para un determinado paciente (AU)

ABSTRACT

Triptans are considered the most efficacious treatment for the migraine acute crisis, considering as efficacy, not only the ability to abort migraine crisis in two hours time-frame, but also the sustainability at least 24 hours without rescue medication. Additional to this, its good security profile must be considered. Seven different triptans for migraine treatment have been put on the market. Everything points to the fact that differences between them in terms of efficacy and security are minimum, even tough this differences can be clinically relevant when personalizing the treatment for a single patient (AU)
