Uso del software NVivo(R) en una investigación con teoría fundamentada / Use of the software NVivo(R) in research using grounded theory

RESUMEN

El objetivo de este artículo es dar a conocer la experiencia con el uso de un software de apoyo a la investigación cualitativa, el NVivo10(R), en una encuesta que utilizó como método la Teoría Fundamentada. Inicialmente, se presenta un guión básico con informaciones sobre la forma de utilizar el software y luego se describe la experiencia en sí. Se concluye que el software es una herramienta tecnológica que facilita la organización, visualización y acceso a los datos de la investigación, lo que representa una economía de tiempo y trabajo. Sin embargo, el software no sustituye el trabajo del investigador. Para un mejor aprovechamiento del mismo, es importante conocer a fondo en el método elegido, así como también el recurso tecnológico

ABSTRACT

This article aims to introduce the experience of using a software to support qualitative research, NVivo10(R), in a survey that used Grounded Theory as a method. Initially, a primary script is introduced with information on how to handle the software, and then the experience itself is described. It is concluded that using such software is a technological tool that makes it easier to organize, visualize, and access research data, something which represents saving time and work. And this is consistent with the methodology proposed, because, among other things, it helps managing large amounts of data generated by the Grounded Theory. However, it does not replace researcher’s work. Therefore, it is worth going deeper into the method of choice and knowledge on the technological resource, making a better use of it
