Convertirse en psicoterapeuta / Becoming a psychotherapist

RESUMEN

Reflexionamos sobre el período de formación y los primeros años de práctica clínica del psicoterapeuta a partir de una experiencia personal de trabajo psicoterapéutico, de orientación psicoanalítica y con pacientes graves. Se destaca la importancia de incluir en la práctica diaria el trabajo sobre la dimensión emocional del terapeuta, sin relegarlo únicamente a su análisis personal y a las supervisiones. Desde la asunción de su falta, que implica la existencia del Otro, el profesional ejercerá su labor no tanto como una técnica aprendida mediante el entrenamiento de ciertas habilidades y destrezas, sino como un arte en el que su singularidad y su creatividad supongan la causa y motor de su función. Se cuestiona además el uso clásico de la interpretación en psicoanálisis, para proponer intervenciones que, a través de puntuar de otra forma el discurso del sujeto, le ayuden a establecer una nueva lectura de su decir (AU)

ABSTRACT

This study analyses the training period and the first years of clinical practice of psychotherapists based on a personal experience of psychotherapeutic work of psychoanalytic orientation with patients with severe mental disorders. It highlights the need to include in daily practice a certain work on the therapist’s emotional dimension, this being understood beyond personal analysis and supervisions. Assuming their lack, which implies the existence of the Other, professionals will be able to work not so much as technicians who have acquired certain skills, but as artists whose own singularity and creativity are reasons and driving forces their work. The traditional use of interpretation in psychoanalysis is also put into question. Instead, we suggest specific interventions using a different grading of the subject’s speech to help the psychotherapist making a new reading of their discourse (AU)
