Análisis de concepto: la transformación digital en el contexto del ámbito sanitario / Concept analysis: Digital transformation in the context of the healthcare setting

RESUMEN

Objetivo: examinar el concepto de transformación digital en el ámbito sanitario mediante el análisis del estado actual de la literatura científica, siguiendo el método de análisis de concepto de Wilson. Método: en primer lugar se diseñaron diferentes estrategias de búsqueda para localizar y recuperar artículos de investigación a través de bases de datos como Medline, Scopus y Cinahl; y, por otro lado, se buscó literatura gris utilizando motores de búsqueda como Google y DuckDuckGo. Una vez obtenida la documentación se procedió al análisis conceptual descrito por Wilson y, posteriormente, desarrollado por Avant, siguiendo cada uno de los 11 pasos que proponen. Resultados: el concepto está formado originalmente de dos palabras, cuya combinación “transformación digital” adquiere la siguiente definición “proceso de cambio a través del uso de la información en formato digital, en otros términos, no analógica”. Conclusiones: los resultados aclaran el significado de transformación digital para ayudar a los profesionales a comprender y abordar esta actuación en todas sus dimensiones y promover que se haga una transformación digital, que no solo se obtiene digitalizando, sino creando una estrategia que añada valor.(AU)

ABSTRACT

Objective: to examine the concept of digital transformation in the healthcare setting through the analysis of the current status of scientific literature, following the Wilson method of concept analysis. Method: first of all, different search strategies were designed in order to locate and retrieve research articles through databases such as Medline, Scopus and Cinahl; and on the other hand, there was a search for grey literature using search engines such as Google and DuckDuckGo. Once documentation was obtained, there was concept analysis as described by Wilson and subsequently developed by Avant, following each of the 11 steps presented. Results: the concept is initially formed by two words, and their combination as “digital transformation” obtains the following definition “process of change through the use of information in digital format, or in other words non-analog”. Conclusions: results have clarified the meaning of digital transformation to help professionals to understand and address this action in all its dimensions, and to promote the implementation of a digital transformation, which is not only obtained by digitizing but also by creating a strategy that adds value.(AU)
